Try-Outs

Swimmers interested in joining the Park City Aquatic Team must attend a try-out where they will be evaluated on stroke technique and how they move thourgh the water. Upon completion of try-outs, swimmers will immediately be notified whether or not they make the team and what group they will be in. Swimmers moving into the area that are currently USA Swimming registered with their prior team should contact Head Coach Mike Werner.

Tryouts for PCAT will USUALLY be the first Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of each month, from 5:00-5:45 PM. Interested swimmers need to attend 2 of the 3 try-out days to be considered for the team. Please bring a suit, towel, goggles and a swim cap for swimmers with long hair.

Groups

Black Group - Coach John

The Black group is the beginning level of PCAT. Swimmers that are moving up from Pre-Cat or just joining their first swim team will be in this group. The Black group is designed to help swimmers learn proper mechanics of each stroke and the beginning fundamentals of competitive swimming. Swimmers are introduced to the basic training techniques and drill components of the team. The age range is generally swimmers 12 and under. This group primarily focuses on beginning competitive swimmers.

Silver Group - Coach Serena

The Silver group is the middle level of PCAT. In this group, the emphasis shifts toward efficient training and developing endurance. Swimmers in the Silver group are expected to make more of a commitment to swimming and start making it a priority. The age range is generally 11 and up. Swimmers in this group usually have multiple JO qualifying times or have just aged-up into an a new division and are getting close to having JO qualifying times.

Red Group - Coach Mike

The Red group is the highest age group level of PCAT. This group focuses on higher intensity training and higher yardage with higher expectations. Swimmers in this group are expected to make swimming a main priority and coming to at least 4 practices per week. The age range is generally 12 and up. Swimmers in this group are among the top swimmers in their age group, have multiple JO qualifying times and are focusing on qualifying for meets like Zones, Sectionals, Jr. Nats, etc.

Senior Team - Coach Mike

The Senior Team is comprised mainly of HS age swimmers. Swimmers in this group are extremely focused on their swimming and are striving for the best results possible. This group starts focusing on double workouts, more intense workouts and preparing for meets like Zones, Sectionals, Jr. Nats, etc. and aim toward swimming beyond HS.

 

Quarterly Dues - Effectice Sept. 1, 2009

The fee schedule for dues is in the table lsited below. Dues can ONLY be paid to Mike or Serena. Please make checks payable to PCAC.

Dues need to be paid by the 10th of the month. There is a $5 late fee per swimmer for dues paid after the 10th.
